Accessibility Statement

Last Updated:

Our commitment

USGA Inc. wants its website to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing part of how we maintain and improve the site, not a one-time task.

The standard we work toward

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as a technical target and benchmark for our accessibility work. It guides what we test and what we improve. It is not a statement that every page or component has been certified or conclusively verified against that standard.

What we do

Measures we use in building and maintaining the website include:

  • semantic page structure, including headings and landmark regions;
  • navigation and controls that can be used with a keyboard, including the mobile menu and pop-up windows;
  • visible focus indicators when moving through the page with a keyboard;
  • layouts designed to adapt to different screen sizes and zoom levels;
  • support for the reduced-motion setting on your device;
  • text labels on form fields, with error messages connected to the fields they describe;
  • automated accessibility testing;
  • testing in both the light and dark themes and at mobile screen sizes; and
  • ongoing manual review, including keyboard checks.

Areas we are still improving

Testing can reveal places that need more work, and we treat that as part of the process. Areas we are currently working to improve include:

  • text contrast where text sits over complex photographs;
  • how form errors are communicated;
  • text alternatives and descriptions for project photos and videos;
  • keyboard behavior of interactive components; and
  • how the site works with screen readers.

Third-party services and content

Some content on this website comes from services we do not control, including the embedded Google Map and the independently operated websites we link to, such as manufacturers’ sites. Their accessibility is outside our direct control. If one of them is difficult for you to use, contact us and, where we reasonably can, we will help you get the information another way, such as our office address and directions by phone or email.

Tell us about a problem

If you run into a barrier on this website, or need information in another form, please let us know:

If you are comfortable doing so, it helps to include:

  • the page or web address where you ran into the problem;
  • a description of what happened;
  • the browser and device you were using; and
  • any assistive technology you use.

You do not need to provide technical details to get help; tell us what you can. We cannot promise a specific response time.
